As the demand for our products grew, we expanded our operations in order to create a wider range of products to meet the needs of the professional market. This was the beginning of a product range which became one of the most comprehensive on offer to the professional beauty therapist and was designed to complement the wide variety of treatments provided by any salon or spa. The products were supplied in both salon and retail sizes to offer the therapist flexibility and to assist in selling on to the client after treatments.
In 1982 Castle Care Cosmetics Limited was formed by all of the original partners. The early years were largely dedicated to expanding and marketing the range to salons, health spas and colleges through trade publications and exhibitions.
By 1986 interest in the product offering was such that it resulted in the first own-label and contract work. The company undertook the development, manufacture and filling of products specifically to customers’ own requirements and this new area of activity grew rapidly to become the major part of the company’s business.
Meanwhile, Castle Care’s own skin care range was expanded and marketed under the trade name of Sensa and, in response to the growing interest in aromatherapy, the AromaCare range of essential oils, pre-blended oils and carriers was developed. Together with Tropical Spa, a family of sauna essences and skin and hair products produced for use in health clubs and sports facilities, these four areas now form the basis of Castle Care’s activities.
